Tarkoittaako jäsenyys samaa kuin tilanvuokraaminen Hubista?
Jäsenyys tarkoittaa sitä, että on oikeutettu käyttämään erilaisia Hubin palveluita valitun jäsenyystason mukaisesti. Tila ja sen käyttö ovat vain yksi Hubin palveluista. Muita palveluja ovat esimerkiksi erilaiset tapahtumat sekä valmis kansainvälinen verkosto. Jäsenyystasosta riippuen jäsenyyden hintaan sisältyy 50:stä tunnista rajoittamattomaan tuntimäärään tilankäyttöoikeutta.
Voiko teiltä ostaa satunnaisesti vaikka vain tunnin verran työtilaa, tehdä työt ja lähteä?
Tällaisiin tarpeisiin suosittelemme verkostojäsenyyttä, jolla voi poiketa vaikka kahville ja tehdä samalla sen tunnin töitä tai vaihtoehtoisesti varata tunniksi neuvotteluhuoneen jäsenhintaan.
Koska Hubiin voi tulla työskentelemään?
Milloin vain. Ajanvarausta ei ole, vaan olet tervetullut, kun sinulle sopii ja sen mukaan, minkä jäsenyyden olet valinnut. Ainoan rajoitteen liikenteelle antavat Kuusvooninkisen yleiset aukioloajat, jotka ovat seuraavat:
- arkisin klo 07.00-21.00
- la-su klo 10.00-18.00.
Verkostojäsenyyteen ei kuulu omia kulkuoikeuksia tilaan, joten verkostojäsenet voivat käyttää Hubia silloin kun hostimme ovat paikalla (arkisin klo 9-16) tai muulloin sopimuksen mukaan.
Entä jos silloin ei olekaan tilaa kun haluan tulla töihin?
On erittäin epätodennäköistä, että näin kävisi. Joustavan ja erilaisia tuntitarpeita palvelevan jäsenyysvalikoimamme ansiosta Hubin ”kansoitus” on tähän mennessä jakautunut niin, ettei kenenkään työpistettä tarvitsevan ole tarvinnut jäädä ilman. Voimme siis luvata, että sinulle järjestyy paikka silloin kun sitä tarvitset.
Miten sitä seurataan kuka on Hubilla ja minkä verran?
Erityistä kulunvalvontaa – lukuun ottamatta matkapuhelimella toimivia pääovien lukkoja – Hubilla ei ole. Luotamme siihen, että jäsenemme käyttävät tilaa valitsemansa jäsenyystason mukaisesti. Aina paikalla oleva host tuntee jokaisen jäsenen, ja jos huomaamme, että joku käyttää aikaa huomattavasti jäsenyystasoaan enemmän, ehdotamme seuraavan jäsenyystason kokeilemista. 
Voinko vain vuokrata teiltä tilaa ilman että minun tarvitsee liittyä jäseneksi?
Kokous- ja neuvottelutiloja kyllä. Näiden hinnaston löydät täältä. Verkosto-jäsenyydellä eli 25 € / kk + alv. 23% saat lisäksi etuja tilojen hinnoissa.
Miten tietoturva-asiat ja palomuuri on järjestetty kun kyseessä on jaettu verkko?
Verkkoyhteytemme internetiin on suojattu palveluntarjoajan palomuurilla. Oman langattoman verkkomme sisällä yhteyksiä ei ole rajoitettu, joten sinun tulee käyttää oman tietokoneesi palomuuria ja rajata verkkopalveluita tarpeen mukaan. Langattomat verkot on suojattu WPA2-salauksella. Saat verkon salasanan hosteilta.
Onko pakko olla yhteisöllinen yrittäjä?
Ei. Hubissa on kyse siitä, että meillä on loistavamahdollisuus kohdata toisia yrittäjiä, mutta se ei ole millään tavoin välttämätöntä. Omaan juttuunsa saa – ja pitää – keskittyä. Hubiin ovat tervetulleita kaikki, jotka kokevat paikan omakseen ja palveluistamme jollain tavalla hyötyvänsä.
Kuinka paljon viestintää Tampereen Hubilla on muiden maailman Hubien kanssa ja onko yksittäisen jäsenen mahdollista saada yhteys maailmalle helposti?
Keskustelua ja viestintää eri Hubien hostien ja perustajien välillä on lähes päivittäin sähköpostilistojen kautta. Yksittäisen jäsenen on mahdollista olla yhteydessä maailmalle mihin tahansa Hubiin, keneen tahansa hostiin tai toiseen jäseneen HubSpace- ja Hub+ -järjestelmien kautta, johon saa automaattisesti tunnukset jo verkostojäseneksi liittymällä. Voit myös pyytää hostejamme ottamaan yhteyttä toisiin hosteihin jonkun tietyn kysymyksen tai yhteistyökyselyn puitteissa, tai ottaa muiden Hubien hosteihin suoraan yhteyttä verkoston kansainvälisen sivuston kautta the-hub.net.
Olen graafinen suunnittelija/markkinointiyrittäjä ja minun tarvitsee tulostaa paljon. Kuinka paljon saan tulostaa, mitä se maksaa ja onnistuuko myös A3-arkkien tulostus?
Käytössämme on yhteinen Konica Minolta Bizhub C351- tulostin, jolla saa myös värilliset ja A3-tulosteet. Jäsenyyteen kuuluu tasosta riippuen tietty määrä tulosteita ja sen ylittävät määrät laskutamme käytön mukaan (0,7 c / mv-A4, 1,4 c mv-A3, 7 c / väri-A4, 14 c / väri-A3).
Saako Hubilta säilytystilaa?
Kyllä saa. Jäsenyyteen kuuluu lukollinen metallinen 31cm x 33,5cm x 45cm kaappi, johon mahtuvat sopivasti esim. läppari, mappeja tai ylimääräinen näyttö.
Kuka se host oikein on?
Host on arkipäivisin klo 9 -16 paikalla oleva henkilö, joka auttaa kaikissa tiloihin ja toimintaan liittyvissä kysymyksissä, ottaa vieraita vastaan ja toimii luotsina yhteisissä hetkissä. Host on myös loistava johdattamaan ihmisiä ja ajatuksia toistensa luokse, koska hän tutustuu jäseniin ja tietää millaisia projekteja kullakin on menossa.
Jos tulen jäseneksi, voinko kääntää yritykseni etanapostin Hubille?
Hub 50-jäsenyydestä alkaen postiosoite- ja -laatikko kuuluu palveluun. Kannattaa olla itse aktiivinen postilaatikon tarkastuksessa, koska välillä Hubilla on paljonkin vilskettä eikä host aina huomaa jakaa postia, jos jäsen ei ole ollut paikalla postin saapuessa.
Entä saanko Hub-päätteisen sähköpostiosoitteen halutessani?
@the-hub.net – osoitteet ovat tällä hetkellä ainoastaan Hubin henkilökunnan ja hostien käytössä. Mikäli olet kiinnostunut toimimaan hostina, sinulle voidaan tarpeen mukaan luoda Hub-päätteinen osoite.
Kuinka pitkäksi ajaksi jäsenyyteen on sitouduttava?
Jäsenyys ei sido sinua yhtään pidemmäksi aikaa kuin haluat olla mukana. Jäsenyys maksetaan kuukausittain pdf- tai e-laskulla siitä kuukaudesta lähtien, jona päätät tulla jäseneksi. Voit jäädyttää, lopettaa tai vaihtaa jäsenyytesi ilmoittamalla siitä etukäteen jo sopimusta allekirjoittaessasi tai kesken kuluvan jäsenyyskuukauden ilmoittamalla siitä kirjallisesti kuukauden 15. päivään mennessä.
Eli kannattaako minun tulla jäseneksi kuun lopulla vai kuun alussa?
Kolmiportaisen jäsenyysmallin mukaan voi jäseneksi liittyä koska vaan ja saat täyden tehon irti niin puolessa välissä kuuta tai kuun alussa. On myös mahdollista katsoa liitymistä tapauskohtaisesti Sinua parhaiten palavelevalla tavalla.
Voiko Hubilla tai Hubin kautta markkinoida yritystään ja palveluitaan?
Kyllä voi ja konstit ovat monet. Hubilla on lukuisia foorumeita ja muita mahdollisuuksia itsensä ja yrityksensä esilletuomiseen. Kysy hosteilta lisää!
Entä jos en ole yrittäjä; voinko silti liittyä jäseneksi jotta pääsisin minua kiinnostaviin tapahtumiin?
Periaatteessa sille ei ole estettä, mutta suosittelemme, että taustallasi on jonkinlainen organisaatio, jotta saat palveluistamme parhaan hyödyn irti.
En enää ole parikymppinen tai kovin lähelläkään sitä; miten mahdan sopia joukkoon?
Loistavasti! Hubissa on kyse ihmisistä, ideoista ja yhteisöstä. Jäsentemme ikähaitari on tällä hetkellä 24-64 ja toivomme erityisesti kaikenikäisiä jäseniä. 
Miksi minun kannattaisi liittyä Hubin jäseneksi?
Hub on loistava ympäristö aloittaa oma yritystoiminta tai kehittää ja verkostoida jo toiminnassa olevaa yritystä. Vaikkapa sijainti on kertakaikkisen loistava – keskustammassa olisit jo torilla! Monet jäsenet ovat saaneet uusia ideoita ja liiketoimintaa Hubin kautta. Lisäksi Hubilla arjessa tapahtuva sosiaalinen kanssakäyminen piristää päivää, vaikka sattuisikin olemaan yksintekijä muuten.
Lisäksi Hubin malli säästää selvää rahaa ja vaivaa sellaisissa asioissa, jotka väistämättä liittyisivät “kivijalan” vuokraamiseen kuten esim. vuokravakuus. Kannattaa kokeilla Hubia vaikka päivän pituisen Test Drive -kampanjan kautta.
Ovatko kaikki Hubin jäsenet luovan alan yrittäjiä?

Does membership mean the same as renting a space from Hub to work in?
Being a member means that according to your chosen membership level, you are entitled to use different kind of services provided by the Hub. Working space is just one of the services. Other services include i.e. different events and already established global network. Depending on the membership level, from five to unlimited hours of working space is included.
Can I just walk in randomly, buy an hour of working space, do my work and leave?
For this kind of need we recommend the Hub Connect membership, with which you can for example stop by for a cup of coffee and do that hour of work or you can rent a meeting room with lower costs.
When can I come and work at the Hub?
Whenever you like. There is no reservation system so you are welcome to bump in as you please and according to your membership level. The only limitation is the general opening hours of the Kuusvooninkinen -building where the Hub is located. General opening hours are:
- mon-fri from 7.00am to 9.00pm
- sat-sun from 10.00am to 6.00pm.
Hub Connect members are welcome when the hosts are present (weekdays 9-16) or otherwise by special arrangement.
What if there is no space when I need to work in the Hub?
It’s highly unlikely for this kind of situation to happen. Our membership model is designed to be flexible and to serve different hourly needs and thanks to it, there has so far never been a situation that somebody would have been left without a space. We promise you that whenever you need your space, you will get it.
How do you keep control of who spends time and how much at the Hub?
There is no traffic control system other than the mobile phone based locks on the main doors. We trust our members to use the space according to the chosen membership level. If we notice somebody using the space more than the particular membership level allows, we will suggest to try out the next membership.
Can I just rent a meeting room for a day without having to become a member?
Yes, you can. And when you are a member, costs are lower.
What about the security related issues regarding the network and the firewall?
Our internet connection is firewalled and protected by our service provider. Our internal wireless network is protected by WPA2 encryption but computer-to-computer connections are allowed inside the network, so use a personal firewall and limit your network services according to your needs.
Do I have to be a community-loving social entrepreneur to join the Hub?
Not at all. The Hubs exist to offer the possibility to easily meet other entrepreneurs, make possible new ways of thinking, learning and working together. The Hub is open to all businesses who feel that they can be part of the Hub and benefit from our services.
How does Hub Tampere connect to other Hubs in the world?
Tampere hosts and founder get messages from the other hosts and founders almost daily via the world mailing lists. You as an individual member can connect to other members via the HubSpace and Hub+ -online systems or by asking the hosts to send a request to the network or to a specific Hub via the host lists. You can also contact hosts directly from the contact information of each Hub at the-hub.net.
I am a marketing entrepreneur/graphic designer and I need to print a lot. How much can I use the printers, how much does it cost and does it also make full color A3-sheets?
In the Hub we have a Konica Minolta Bizhub C351 -network printer, which also prints high quality full color A3-sheets. There is a certain amount of printing included in all the membership levels and we have a fixed pricing for additional prints (0,7 c / b&w A4, 1,4 c b&w A3, 7 c color A4, 14 c / color A3).
Can the Hub provide me some kind of locker?
Yes. The Hub 50 and Unlimited membership includes a 31cm x 33,5cm x 45cm metal box with a lock where you can store i.e. your laptop, folders or an extra display.
So who is this host-person anyway?
A host is a Hub staff member who is present from Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 4.00pm. Host will help you with all the questions regarding the space and the services and anything related to them. Host also acts as a facilitator and a presenter at the collective happenings such as breakfasts and salad lunches. The hosts know all the members so they can proactively link and network members who might have shared interests.
If I become a member, can I direct my postal mail to the Hub?
Starting from Hub 50 membership, mail address and mailbox are included in the service. You may still want to be proactive with your incoming mail since there is a lot of traffic at the Hub and the hosts don’t always remember to deliver the mail if the member isn’t at the Hub when the mail comes.
What about the @the-hub.net email address; can I have one?
At the moment, all the mail addresses with @the-hub.net- domain ending are reserved to the staff of Hubs. If you are interested in becoming a part-time host, it may be possible to create your own Hub email address.
For how long am I bound to the Hub membership?
Membership doesn’t bind you any longer than you wish to be our member. Memberships are paid each month by a pdf- or an e-invoice from the month you become a member. You can quit or change your membership level as you like for the next month by letting us know in writing or email by the 15th day of the ongoing month.
So is it best to join at the beginning or at the end of the month?
It is always the best time to join! Of course if you join at the beginning of the month, you’ll get more working time to spend from the Hub 50 and Unlimited memberships. It is also possible to discuss about the best solution to Your particular needs.
Can I market myself and my business at the Hub and/or through the Hub?
Yes, you can and there are many ways to do that. There are a number of different forums and channels to market oneself at the Hub. Ask the hosts for more!
What if I’m not an entrepreneur? Can I still join the Hub?
Basically there is nothing preventing this but we recommend that You have some kind of organisation behind you to get the most out of our services.
I’m past my early twenties – in fact a long time ago. Can I still fit in?
You will fit in like a fish in the sea. The Hub is all about people, ideas and making things happen. Right now we have members between 24-64 years of age. We especially hope that our environment would have members of different age and experience.
Why should I become a member?
The Hub is a great environment to start a business, develop an existing company and learn and network yourself. Our location is Tampere is fantastic and we are proud of the welcoming atmosphere we have created. Many of our members have already got and implemented new ideas and business activities as a result of encounters at the Hub. You can also save money because the normal things regarding an office such as rent guarantee don’t apply at the Hub. Even if you work otherwise alone, it’s nice to have people around you. You can test the Hub for three days by taking our Test Drive if you’re interested in the Hub 50 or Unlimited memberships.
Are all Hub members from the creative industries?
No. For example, some of our members are from the electric industry, public sector, sales and marketing – we even have a representative of an ethical bank. Check the members pages from our international site and blog site. We believe that we can support each other across industries and sectors if we are open and listen to each other.
What’s there to think about it any longer, sign me up for a membership!
